School Closure from Friday 20th March

Dear Parents/Carers,

Unfortunately, due to the new government guidelines many of our staff have been advised to remain at home to self-isolate and we are not able to supervise and deliver normal lessons to all classes.  We currently have twelve staff members that will be taking precautionary measures to self-isolate.  In addition to this, several pupils have been sent home due to symptoms of Covid-19.  Please do not send your child to school if they have a fever, develop a new cough or have a pre-existing medical condition.

Although there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 amongst the staff or pupils, attendance has dropped very quickly and is expected to decline still further.  Therefore, after consultation with the Local Authority and the Chair of Governors, we have made the difficult decision to close the school from Friday 20th March 2020 at end of the school day.  This is not a decision we have taken lightly however the welfare of all our children and staff are of paramount importance.

Nursery

Due to particular difficulties with staffing in the Early Years, Nursery will be closed on Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March.  Parents in nursery who require childcare on Thursday and Friday please contact the school office, so that we can accommodate this.

Pupils should not come to school from Monday 23rd March and should access the various online platforms and packs provided.  Parents should ensure that their child reads daily and completes the various learning activities.  Pupils will be provided with additional reading material.

Please ensure the school has your current email address and telephone number as updates will be provided by text and or email.  The school will remain closed until at least Monday 20th April at which point we hope to be in a position to re-open but will update you accordingly.
